Sea Survival is owned and operated by Jon Clift, a Yachtsmaster Instructor for almost 30 years and an ex. RNLI lifeboat helmsman.

Jon's experience with the sea is wide and varied, he has sailed the Atlantic three times and has worked large charter yachts in the U.K, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean. He has also led a holiday flotilla in the West Indies with a 70' motor yacht and worked on a large commercial fishing vessel.

He was Director of Water Activities for Outward Bound Wales and has gained a vast amount of experience through his many years in RNLI Lifeboats. This included a period as helmsman on an Atlantic 21 (a 21' Rigid Inflatable Boat) based in North Wales.

To cap it all he has a degree in Education and is a qualified teacher, having taught in schools and at University level. So you can be confident of getting first class instruction.

Sea Survival differs from other training establishments because Jon is very willing to bring the course to where you are, thereby saving you considerable travel time and expense. 

Your Sea Survival course can be run where and when you want it. Courses are also run regularly at Salcombe and Edinburgh, elsewhere upon request.
